A real-life fairy tale! Grace Kelly was born on Nov. 12, 1929. She made more than 10 movies in her career before she married Prince Rainier of Monaco in April 19, 1956. She was one of Alfred Hitchcock’s favorite leading actress, with the movies “To Catch A Thief”, “Dial M for Murder”, and “Rear Window”. Her last movie was “High Society” and then she became Princess Grace Kelly of Monaco! At her wedding, she wore a bridal gown that was made by MGM designer, Helen Rose. It was made from 125 yards of silk, 100 yards of silk net, a 125 year-old piece of rose point lace that she bought from a museum and thousands of little pearls that were hand sewn on her veil! It was the most expensive gown the Helen Rose ever made! Grace Kelly died on Sep. 14, 1982 from a car accident that occurred while she was driving and had a stroke. A Grace Kelly stamp came out in the 90′s.

I am SO excited that these 4 Nancy Drew old movies are now out of DVD! I have been wanting to see them for a long time! The first one was made in 1938. They star Bonita Granville as Nancy. I was disappointed that they didn’t have any special features in the dvd set, except they have the theatrical trailers. They didn’t do a very good job in restoring them either! I give the dvd quality a b-, but I give the movies themselves a A!

Nancy Drew; The Mystery in Hollywood Hills staring Emma Roberts as Nancy, came out in theaters a few weeks ago. Nancy and her dad go to California after she promised her dad no more sleuthing. Nancy rents a house with a mystery, a movie star use to live there, and after she disappeared for a while, she came back and was found dead in the swimming pool. Nancy kinda breaks her promise about no sleuthing (suprise, suprise) and tries to solve the mystery.
This movie was okay, I didn’t care for some of the characters, and their were some dumb parts, but all and all this movie was worth seeing. It was neat to see a modern day Nancy Drew. Her clothes in this movie are very cool! Retro, 1950′s type! Very neat!I give it a C+.
